Grace and Peace, Members and Friends of the Rehoboth Congregational Church!
It was so wonderful to see everyone on Sunday for Rally Day! A big thank you to the Missions Committee for putting on a delicious breakfast ahead of time. What a fun way to start off the year!
I really enjoyed our blessing of the backpacks. Not only was it a great way to send our kids off to school with some extra prayers, it also reminded me of just how important it is to bless the pieces of our lives. The recent hurricanes have reminded me of just how quickly things can change. Offering blessings like these not only remind us of God's ever-present love and grace, they also bind us together in community and show tangible proof that we are never alone.
Thank you to everyone who offered up the names of people in their lives who were in Hurricane Irma's path during our time of concerns and celebrations. For those of you who weren't in worship, I shared that I had posted to Facebook the night before asking people to either update me as to whether they were evacuated or staying or share the names of their family and friends who they were praying for. I did the same on Sunday and then listed off every name during the pastoral prayer. This was a bold and powerful witness to just how important prayer is. We need to hold one another in the spirit of God's love, mercy and grace!
Please join us for worship on Sunday. Jack Cogar is being baptized - what a wonderful moment it will be for our church family to witness the living waters of baptism wash over him as we officially welcome him into our church family!
See you on Sunday!
In Christ's love,
