Welcome to the RCC Church School Program!
During the school year, we offer care and Christian Education for all ages Nursery through Grade 12.
We begin our Church School year on Rally Day, this year on September 12th, after an initial
welcoming cookout and campfire on Rally Night (details on both below). We meet each week except
for holidays or other occasions as specified (see calendar), and finish our year with a special children's service and celebration on Children's Day in June (date uncertain at this time, either June 5th or 12th).
We begin each week all together upstairs at the 10:00AM service. After the Prayer of Confession, there
is a Children's Message, and then all the students, teachers, and helpers are dismissed to their classes:
Nursery through Grade 8 are located downstairs, Senior High (grades 9-12) meets in Fellowship Hall
(there is no Senior High on communion weeks). Class downstairs lasts until 11:15 and children must
be signed out by a parent/guardian to be released; Senior High finishes at 11:00 (when service lets
out). It is important to note that each week we have class, we need a volunteer helper in each class, for
safety and support!
During the school year, our Nursery is staffed with a caregiver, and parents have the option of staying
with their young child, or leaving him/her with the caregiver but taking a pager, so they can be reached
if needed. During the summer and on holiday weekends, the Nursery is unstaffed, but open for use (see
calendar).
Separate from Church School, we also offer Youth Group activities to the older children in the church,
grouped by age: Middle School (Grades 5&6), Junior High (Grades 7&8), and Senior High (Grades 9-
12). These groups are registered for separately; more information can be found on the Youth Group
page.

This is the first day of Church School. We will begin upstairs in service as usual, with an introduction to the program and the Teachers, before being dismissed downstairs for class. Registration forms will be available that day for those who are not already registered. We look forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new ones!
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL-
Thank you to all those who attended and helped in VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL this year, where we all had a wonderful time learning about the life of Jesus through stories, songs, games and art projects on "Lava Lava Island". We had 33 children attending, 11 teens and 7 adults volunteering; more people also supported us with donations and cleanup help. It was a true multi-generational event, and we all had a good time. Take a minute to look through the VBS photo album the next time you pass through the Narthex!

LENDING LIBRARY -
The Church school has a wonderful selection of movies
(VHS and DVD) for children and families that you are
invited to borrow. The Movie Cart is located in the
Church School area. The Book Cart is currently being
updated and will soon be available as well. Contact
me with any questions.
IMPORTANT - Cancellation Notification Procedure for Weather/Church (School) Cancellation:
In the event of needing to cancel Church School (weather, other emergency), I will send out an email to all as soon as I know (usually that is not until late Sat. night or early Sun morning). Cancellation information will also be available on the church website (www.rehobothucc.org), and a phone message at the church (508-252-4545) usually pretty early. If you don't hear through any of those means, you can call me to check, 508-252-4413. (Usually Church Service and Church School are canceled together, but there have been bad weather occasions when a service was still offered but there was no Church School.)

The Senior High students meet to enjoy a more in-depth, mature study of the Bible and review some
major points from previous years. This year they will be studying the gospel of Mark, and using the
book “23 Questions About Hell” for discussion (book not required). This book raises common
questions about hell, (such as Did God create hell? Is it real or metaphorical? Can "good" people go
there?) and uses the Bible to answer them.
